WRITE ACROSS NEBRASKA
Schuyler – Eastern Nebraska
July 16-17-18, 2010
RETREAT CONCEPT: Open to all writers (not just NWG members), this “time apart” from your regular day-to-day demands, is intended to motivate you to write as much as possible. You may want to separate yourself from others to focus OR you have the option of participating in chats with other writers, brief workshops and/or peer critiques of works-in-progress. NOTE: You do not have to participate in the entire weekend, but may choose to come for one day or any portion. Meal head-count is REQUIRED prior to the event so please notify the coordinator if you will be dropping in for the day.
Significant others (spouses) will find plenty of opportunities to commiserate with people who understand the unique demands of “living with a writer.” The area also offers opportunities for relaxation, touring, shopping.

The Benedictine Center is a spacious retreat geared toward quiet meditaion with a lovely lake and walking trails. The Priory across the street from the center has scheduled hours of worship for the resident monks, but visitors are welcome to join them. The center itself also has a chapel. The facility provides a solarium with library, a media room, and gift shop. A permanent exhibit with artifacts from various countries provides information on the history of the Missionary Benedictine Congregation founded in 1884 by Fr. Andreas Amehein..
