Basic Concepts of Non-Fiction

Non-Fiction (sometimes spelled Nonfiction) makes up a huge category of books that are generally (but not always) about true things.  Non-fiction can be broken down or organized into various sub-categories or genres, such as biography/autobiography, memoirs (also journals and diaries), genealogy and family history, history, travel, politics, science, psychology, philosophy, sociology, diet and health, true crime, textbooks, how-to books, business, grant-writing, technical writing, self publishing, investment, and many other kinds of books.  (Poetry, plays, scriptwriting, and great literature are also sometimes put in the category of Non-fiction.)

A few websites of non-fiction writing interest are organized and listed below in general and by genre, but many, many more can be found by searching the internet or your local bookstore using those specific genre headings.  Note: Websites are copyrighted and protected by law just as books are.  Also, websites are subject to unexpected changes by their own authors, so while these linked websites appear to be good and helpful sites as they are listed, the Guild can not be responsible for their content or their availability at any particular time.
